The Guineas at Three Weeks
At 3 weeks, the guineas are about 4 times the size that they were when they arrived. Their baby down has given way to glossy mature feathers on their wings and tails, they’re plowing through their feed and water, their beaks have grown and become slightly hooked, and they’ve become adept enough at jumping and half-flying that they can perch on the crossbars of the chair that we’re using to hold up their heat lamp. Already, aside from their tabby-cat striped heads and propensity for napping, they hold little resemblance to the fluffy little balls that arrived in the mail in mid-February.
